Lydia Wolens : What is your inspiration for creating art works?

Daimon Xanthopoulos : I love to show or tell a story with my work. Like with my current project “Faith in Europe” where I want to show the spirituality within our own societies.

Lydia Wolens : What role emotions plays in your Art?

Daimon Xanthopoulos : Emotions play a significant role in my photographs. Belief and spirituality are experienced through emotions and are an important part of the communities, the places and rituals I visit. So they play an important part in these works.

Lydia Wolens : How did you choose the subject for your art works?

Daimon Xanthopoulos :After a documentary I made in West Arica on the influence of secret societies and spirituality, I wanted to see and discover how this was present within my own culture and society. This is how I started my works on ‘Faith in Europe - between belief and reality’.

Lydia Wolens :  How Spiritual aspect is present in your art?

Daimon Xanthopoulos : Im my work I want to shed light on spirituality within our societies by focusing not only to the historic places and it’s people but by trying to capture that invisible feeling and atmosphere.
